Happy Birthday Hannah!
Yesterday was Hannah's birthday. I'm a day late, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to wish her a Happy Birthday. We are so blessed to have her in our family. She is just a sweet baby. Her dad calls her our "Swiss Miss" baby because she has such blonde, curly hair. Her nana has always said she has an "angel face." And she really does!

Our Trip to Canada
About 2 weeks ago the boys were invited down to Las Vegas for the week to see their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. They were excited to go down and we thought it would be a good opportunity to go see Calgary. Korey has always thought it would be fun to go visit where I grew up. So Sunday night, we packed up the girls and the car and headed to Calgary. Fifteen hours of drving, an overnight stay in Dillon, MT, losts of potty breaks and too many Dora shows later...we found ourselves in Calgary. Our first full day in Calgary was spent going around visiting the old sites.......
This is our house. A lot different, yet still the same. My mom and dad built this house, and there are a lot of memories. Korey was such a great sport. He took all these pictures.
My first job was at Leavitt's Icecream Shop. Here I am enjoying an icecream cone! Thanks to my husband for loving me enough to take me home! I really had a fun time. Stay tuned for more fun pictures!
This is the view from the park next to the house. My dad and grandpa built the fence. Scott ran down that hill, hit his face on the fence and got a ton of stitches. We sledded down what then seemed like a hill, it's really a VERY small slope.
This is the ally behind our house. This is the back fence and the color the fence was when we lived here. What's the significance of this spot? We use to have a flyer route. Once Mark and Scott ditched the flyers behind the fence in order to be done earlier. My dad, of course, found them and they finished the route. Who dumps their flyers right behind their house? They wouldn't have made it as career criminals!
While Korey was playing photographer. Olivia and I were up at the park. There was a little preschool there and the children were playing. I could tell that some of the ladies were wondering why we were there, and more importantly, why were we taking so many pictures. One lady gathered up the courage to come talk to me and I explained the situation. Another lady, in a blue dress, got really upset and told me that I shouldn't be taking pictures of someone else's house. Anyway, we left shortly after that, but Korey couldn't help but take a picture of her on the way out!

Fourth of July
We had a great Fourth of July. Friday night we kicked things off by hanging out down in Provo until 2:00 am. Well, some of us did; however, we owe Scott, Kaden, Nick and Josh for holding our spots for the parade until 7:00 am Saturday morning. Scott had to get pushy with some of our parade neighbors, but in the end, I think it was well worth it!

Pre-school
Olivia started a summer pre-school program today. Her class starts at 9:30, but I think she was ready just after 8. That's a long wait for a three-year-old. She was a little scared when we got there, but once she was in the classroom eveything was fine. I was the one who had a hard time leaving! I could have stood outside the door and watched from the window the whole 90 minutes. It's hard to see them grow up!

I'm Back!
I'm back and I have weeks worth of pictures and stories to tell....so get comfy! Olivia's new obsession is painting toes. She let's you paint hers, but in return you have to let her paint yours! This is the result. It takes a whole bottle of nail polish remover, a nail scrubber and patience to clean this mess up!

Pee Water
Last night I put Olivia in the bath after dinner and let her play around a little before I put Hannah in. When I brought Hannah in I had Olivia scoot over and sat Hannah beside her. They started playing and Olivia picked up a glass, scooped up some water and drank it.
I said, "Livy, you might not want to drink the water. Hannah could have pee'd in it."
As an after thought, I said, "Or you could have."
Livy looks at me and says, "No, I pee'd over there." And points to the spot Hannah's sitting.
Apparently she thought she was safe. I guess I need to keep working on the idea of NOT peeing in the bathtub.

Can I get a minute?
I have really been trying hard to get on the treadmill every day and run for half an hour. Not much, but it's better than nothing. I have to wait until Hannah lays down for her nap, otherwise she tries to climb on the treadmill. Anyway, today I layed Hannah down and turned on Dora for Olivia. I had only been running for a few minutes when Olivia got bored and started to entertain herself. She started dropping swedish fish on the belt and watching them fly off the back of the treadmill. Next thing I know, I'm dodging 'My little Ponies.' I guess that running isn't always going to be as easy as I thought! Was it 10,000 Maniacs that sang "These are the Days to Remember"? Did they have a 3-year-old? Maybe one of them did and that was the inspiration for the band's name....who knows!

Big Sister Tattles On Little Sister
This morning I have been downstairs doing laundry, accepting faxes for Korey and checking out all my favorite blogs...if you're reading this I was probably on your blog instead of tending to little issues upstairs. In essence, it's your fault. Anyway, I hear Olivia crying that there's a big problem and she needs me. I meet her at the stairs to find out that Hannah put something in the DVD player. I go into the living room and scan the area for Hannah only to find her hiding behind the plant. So I guess it was her. Anyway, the problem was quickly resolved after I fished a plastic balloon from our 'My Little Pony' set out of the DVD player. I guess Livy did learn her lesson about stuffing things in the DVD player after Korey found four DVD's in the player once. Maybe all our teaching is not in vain!

Olivia is Pregnant...
On Friday we went to lunch with a friend of mine who is pregnant. We went over to see the baby's nursery too. Olivia had so much fun that she has now decided that she is having a baby. She is due in five months and the dad is Scott. Scott is also having a baby. Last night she was laying on my bed holding her tummy. I asked her what was wrong and she said her baby hurt! Oh brother! I hate to see what she will be like when she has a real baby....but that won't be for a VERY long time!

Livy's Valentine's Day Party
Livy had nine little friends over for a Valentine's Day party. Wow! What a crazy house. We iced heart cookies from Granny B's. Don't worry, everyone had their own cup of frosting. There was more licking of knives than spreading of frosting!

The Nice Man
On Sunday we had Stake Conference. We had the priviledge of hearing from Dallin H. Oaks. Before the meeting started he was walking aroung the chapel talking to people and shaking hands. He came by us and shook Olivia's hand and talked to her for a minute. After that, she watched everywhere he went and kept wanting to go see the "nice man" again. Just before the meeting I took Livy to get a drink. Elder Oaks walked by us again and stopped to talk to Livy a second time. When we got back to our seats she was so excited to tell everyone that the "nice man" shook her hand "two times!" I thought it was so sweet that she could feel of his spirit and want to be close to him.

Hard Lessons Learned
Today Olivia found her Halloween costume. A butterfly. She has been wearing it all day. I was making lunch when she comes into the kitchen.
Olivia: Mom, I wonder why I can't fly?
Me: Go ask Dad.
Olivia walks back in the kitchen, head hanging down, and her costume is off.
Olivia: Only real butterflies can fly.
Nice Dad! I guess someone had to break it to her!

Boys Will Be Boys
On Sunday Kaden was showing me how to throw a bounce pass. Apparently he doesn't think I know much about basketball. I'm no Micheal Jordan, but I have played basketball a time or two. Anyway, we were standing in the kitchen passing the ball back and forth when Kaden started throwing kindof hard. He just missed the light on the ceiling when I grabbed the ball and asked him to ease up before someone got hurt. I passed him back the ball and he threw it hard again. The ball hit the light, the light shattered and I caught a piece of glass in the forehead. Korey came running in the kitchen and pulled the glass out of my head. And you know how head wounds go, it just gushed. Luckily, I didn't need stitches. I hope all my boys learned a lesson about throwing balls in the house and listening to their mother....but some how I doubt it!

One Good Turn Deserves Another
Last night I was laying by Olivia telling her the story of Daniel and the lion's den. After the story was over she lay there thinking for a minute or two. Then she turned to me and said, "Mom, I think Daniel should put the king in the lion's den." It certainly makes sense.

Snow, Snow, Snow
We have had some seriously crazy snow! I am catching up on picture downloads and I just found some fun snow pictures from over the Christmas holidays. I love it when the kids come in from playing in the snow, their faces are all pink and cold and they love to snuggle and get warm!
