Livy's Valentine's Day Party

Livy had nine little friends over for a Valentine's Day party. Wow! What a crazy house. We iced heart cookies from Granny B's. Don't worry, everyone had their own cup of frosting. There was more licking of knives than spreading of frosting!
Exhibit A
We had fun making crafts and coloring.
We danced around and played London Bridges and acted very silly.
Exhibit B
Isn't he cute!
Livy had a fun time. I think next time I will stick to an activity outside the house though.

The Nice Man

On Sunday we had Stake Conference. We had the priviledge of hearing from Dallin H. Oaks. Before the meeting started he was walking aroung the chapel talking to people and shaking hands. He came by us and shook Olivia's hand and talked to her for a minute. After that, she watched everywhere he went and kept wanting to go see the "nice man" again. Just before the meeting I took Livy to get a drink. Elder Oaks walked by us again and stopped to talk to Livy a second time. When we got back to our seats she was so excited to tell everyone that the "nice man" shook her hand "two times!" I thought it was so sweet that she could feel of his spirit and want to be close to him.

Hard Lessons Learned

Today Olivia found her Halloween costume. A butterfly. She has been wearing it all day. I was making lunch when she comes into the kitchen.
Olivia: Mom, I wonder why I can't fly?
Me: Go ask Dad.
Olivia walks back in the kitchen, head hanging down, and her costume is off.
Olivia: Only real butterflies can fly.
Nice Dad! I guess someone had to break it to her!

Boys Will Be Boys

On Sunday Kaden was showing me how to throw a bounce pass. Apparently he doesn't think I know much about basketball. I'm no Micheal Jordan, but I have played basketball a time or two. Anyway, we were standing in the kitchen passing the ball back and forth when Kaden started throwing kindof hard. He just missed the light on the ceiling when I grabbed the ball and asked him to ease up before someone got hurt. I passed him back the ball and he threw it hard again. The ball hit the light, the light shattered and I caught a piece of glass in the forehead. Korey came running in the kitchen and pulled the glass out of my head. And you know how head wounds go, it just gushed. Luckily, I didn't need stitches. I hope all my boys learned a lesson about throwing balls in the house and listening to their mother....but some how I doubt it!
